You alone can do it, but you can't do it alone.
Meet Lisa Brown
I’ve known since I was 16 that I wanted to be a therapist—after feeling firsthand how vulnerability and empathy can heal. I went on to earn my master’s in Drama Therapy at NYU and became a Registered Drama Therapist. In New York City, I worked with everyone from kids and teens to adults living with serious mental illness, people in inpatient psychiatry, those facing substance use challenges, and veterans.
In 2017, I moved to North Carolina, got my Clinical Mental Health Counseling license, and opened my private practice, where I see individuals, couples, and families. Since then, I’ve added Board Certified Coach credentials, DBT certification, perinatal mental health training, and I’m diving into Internal Family Systems (IFS) work.
With over ten years of experience, I blend person-centered and attachment-informed approaches—think Emotionally Focused Therapy, Family Systems work, CBT, and DBT—with creative drama-therapy techniques like role-playing and storytelling.
After experiencing our own journey of infant loss, my heart shifted into a space of helping other parents who had walked a similar path. As the mom of two beautiful babes, I am also called to work with couples in the prenatal (before birth) and postpartum (after birth) phases, as well as with families who are experiencing various life transitions.
